Net user control not updating - dating games for the ds emu

The page load of the usercontrol sets the values of both the textbox and the label to the value of str Test. There is a plain old html button on Web User Control1 that executes some client script to open a popup window. Change has some code in the page load that changes the value of str Test from "Some Value" to "New Value". Load 'Put user code to initialize the page here str Test = "New Value" End Sub Change (HTML) That's why I included the code, it's a very small project. It's working perfectly for the label, but the textbox is not updating. The core question being, why is the label being updated but not the textbox? you say you are calling the parent page to refresh...

So the value of both the textbox and the label in the usercontrol should now read "New Value". This is utterly confusing, my page is definitely getting refreshed or the label would still say "Some Value" instead of "New Value". Load 'Put user code to initialize the page here If Not Page. Add(ctr Text Box) End Sub Here's Web User Control1(HTML): Here's Web User Control1(VB): Private Sub Page_Load(By Val sender As System. The variable is indeed set to the right value, it's just something with the rendering of the Text Box that's the issue. The code for each of the 4 items follows, I can't figure this one out for the life of me. Is Post Back Then str Test = "Some Value" End If Dim ctr Text Box As Web User Control1 Place Holder1. Clear() ctr Text Box = Load Control("Web User Control1.ascx") ctr Text Box. is this being recognized in the code-behind as NOT a Post Back(), since its really not, and the value is being reset? It also has a button that executes some client script to refresh the parent window and close the popup. I'll look into it more tonight if no one finds a solution, but I'm assuming its somethign with the Render event on the textbox.

You can create a richer user experience in your AJAX-enabled ASP. Partial-page rendering removes the need for the whole page to refresh as the result of a postback.

-- Curt Christianson site: wrote: Yeah I noticed the same thing, if it's all one page it works fine, it only doesn't work on the user control.

Instead, you can specify only the region of the page to be refreshed.

As a result, users no longer see the whole page reload with every postback.

If we don't think a dater is someone that fellow daters would get on with - we'll respectfully decline service and reserve the right to do so. We think 'Meet-Up' is a lovely free service that gives those of similar interests the opportunity to connect. Also, it is a good idea to keep checking back on our website as sometimes reservations become available at the last minute. Please try to avoid doing anything unsafe in your attempt to arrive to the event on time - we do like to wait for all participants to arrive.
